Our services

Socio-emotional assessments

We conduct comprehensive socio-emotional assessments aimed at informing recommendations for court purposes, therapeutic planning, or targeted intervention. These assessments are carried out through ethically sound practice, with the best interests of the child as the central focus. The process provides parents, social workers, and relevant professionals with a clear understanding of the child’s current experiences, emotional functioning, and developmental needs. By offering a holistic view of the child’s world, the assessment identifies key areas of concern and provides practical, evidence-based guidelines for effective intervention and support.

Therapeutic parenting and trauma competent care

Trauma Competent Care is a specialised training curriculum designed to build confidence and competence in those caring for or working with individuals affected by trauma. Grounded in the principles of therapeutic parenting, it supports carers in understanding how trauma impacts a child’s behaviour, emotions, and relationships. Therapeutic parenting focuses on creating safe, nurturing, and attuned relationships that prioritise connection, emotional regulation, and trust over traditional behavioural approaches. By emphasising the brain’s capacity for neuroplasticity, Trauma Competent Care helps carers recognise how consistent, sensitive, and responsive caregiving can actively support healing, strengthen emotional resilience, and promote long-term positive change.

Counselling

Foster parents are often left to navigate an incredibly demanding journey on their own. They open their homes and hearts to foster children, form deep emotional bonds, and care for them as their own, yet frequently receive little of the emotional and educational support needed to help these children heal and thrive. In our private practice, we offer dedicated one-on-one counselling for foster parents in a safe, confidential, and nurturing environment. This service is designed to provide insight, guidance, and practical understanding, empowering foster parents to better support both their foster children’s emotional healing and their own wellbeing.

Neurofeedback Therapy

Neurofeedback, also known as EEG (electroen-cephalogram) biofeedback, is a therapeutic intervention that provides individuals with real-time feedback on their brainwave activity. Using non-invasive sensors placed on the scalp, neurofeedback monitors brain function and delivers auditory or visual cues that help clients become aware of and regulate their brain patterns. Through this process, the brain learns to function in a more balanced and efficient way, which can support improved emotional regulation, focus, and overall wellbeing. Neurofeedback is commonly used to help manage symptoms associated with conditions such as ADHD, anxiety, depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

Specialized training

We offer specialized training for foster, adoptive, and biological parents, as well as teachers and professionals working with children who experience behavioural challenges. Delivered in an engaging camp-style setting, this program brings carers and children together to learn about trauma, brain development, neglect, and abuse in a supportive and educational environment. Parents and carers are empowered with practical tools to guide children effectively, including strategies for respectful discipline, teaching responsibility and understanding consequences, and managing challenging behaviour with consistency and care. This immersive approach equips carers with the knowledge, confidence, and skills needed to foster positive relationships and promote healthy emotional and behavioural development in the children under their care.
